Making a positive difference in the Community

Making a positive difference is fundamental to our social value commitment. We support both the local community, by our offices, but also the wider education community.

We are committed to supporting our local and educational communities in ways that are impactful and relevant. We are committed to donating over £60,000 to charitable causes by the end of 2021.

Working in the educational sector, we want to create the best environments for students to inspire and motivate them to achieve the impossible in their school and future careers. In order to serve our education community, we are embarking in a variety of projects to engage the students in our work while at the same time giving them an opportunity to learn about career opportunities in the FFE industry.

One charity that Pinnacle Furniture actively support is RRT, this is a Christian charity that provide food and refreshments, and tangible support in the aftermath of emergency situations and natural disasters both in the UK and abroad. Our staff volunteer for emergency relief events, manning food stalls and providing assistance when needed. In addition, our company provides regular donations to support their ongoing work with emergency relief, food boxes, homelessness and bringing joy to the lives of disadvantaged youth.

During the past year the RRT have provided over 115,000 meals and connected to so many people. From supporting our emergency services in the aftermath of terrorist attacks to the residents of Whaley Bridge down to meeting the needs of the hungry child who needs breakfast at school.

During 2020, Pinnacle Furniture donated £57,966 to charitable causes.

We also donate to London Air Ambulance to support their ongoing essential work. London’s Air Ambulance delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Using a helicopter during daylight and rapid response cars at night, London’s Air Ambulance brings the hospital to the patient when time is critical. They perform innovative and potentially life-saving procedures usually found in the emergency department on-scene.

Throughout the year, we also support key fundraising events such as Mental Health Awareness Week, World Alzheimer’s Day, Children in Need and Christmas Jumper Day.

Supporting Local Education

Our management team engage pro-actively with local schools, both in an formal (governor role) and informal capacity. We challenge traditional teaching norms and embrace technology to develop life-ready students, who learn how to learn. We are committed to volunteering 2-3 hours a week supporting post-16 students with their career aspirations, this involves holding mock job interviews, helping with CV writing, and general advice and support in entering the world of work.

Work Experience

Pinnacle Furniture build strong relationships with the local community and schools and have opportunities for students to visit our office for work shadowing and work experience. We have organised work shadowing for students who wanted to gain knowledge on roles such as interior design and visualisation to assist them with university choices. We also arrange open days where students can meet the design team, see some live projects, and gain an understanding of the roles that exist in a company such as ours.
