Barlby New School

Last summer, Pinnacle won the FFE supply for Barlby New School. Barlby New School is a new primary school and The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s first special school in North Kensington, London. The primary school is an Outstanding Ofsted school but had tired, outdated buildings that needed renovation as well as a lack of special facilities for children with special educational needs and development.

We worked with Penoyre & Prasad architects, who created an innovative design for the new school; Mace, who were the main contractor; and Swiftcrafted Ltd, our client. The project saw the creation of a single new building that combines a bigger Primary School, to account for the wider demand for the school, as well as a new dedicated Special School. Kensington & Chelsea didn’t have a Special School within the borough so many children had to travel some distance to attend schools outside of the borough. With continuing demand for SEND within schools, this new facility will be an excellent addition to the borough.

Working with Swiftcrafted Ltd, we ensured that the FF&E that we designed and supplied met the architect’s vision and specification. We installed TeacherWalls which had height adjustable interactive screens and dedicated teacher desks in the classrooms, kitchenettes and specialist wet play equipment. Our TeacherWalls are a modular storage range that promotes flexible use of teaching spaces by combining all storage and technology in a single location. Find out more about our TeacherWalls here.
