Pinnacle Furniture are saddened to hear that BR Thornton Ltd has been placed into administration after a series of ongoing financial issues. It is unfortunate to learn that this has become a continuing trend in the industry.
BR Thornton Ltd, previously British Thornton, has gone into administration after battling multiple refinances and changes in ownership. Based in Ingrow, the firm was one of the leading manufacturers of educational furniture for schools, colleges and universities. Around 100 people were employed at the premises off South Street, with roughly half being made redundant in February 2020.

Pinnacle Furniture are a team of FF&E consultants and furniture specialists who are ready to help those affected by BR Thornton. We work with main contractors and architects for DFE projects and New Builds and we design and deliver a variety of learning environments including Science Laboratories, Classrooms and Social Spaces for schools, colleges and universities. Recently, we worked with McLaren Construction and architectural firm OMA to supply and install 18 high-spec science laboratories, prep rooms and storage facilities for their new School of Science and Sport.
