The Brief

Farnham Heath End School (FHES) is a mixed coeducational secondary school based in Heath End, Surrey. The School is part of Weydon Multi Academy Trust whose vision is to inspire a community of learners whilst increasing investment opportunities and performance across each school.

As trusted partners of Weydon MAT, Pinnacle were required to create inspiring science laboratories, classrooms, LRC and changing rooms that was consistent with the design scheme across the schools. The project was split between FHES’ new and existing building and we worked with two different contractors onsite and direct with the School to ensure that all the rooms were ready for teaching in September.

What we did

In the LRC, we created a colourful and practical space with a variety of study zones. We included multiple seating options such as the Treehouse which provides a comfortable nook for collaboration and Sculpt seating that doubles up as a bookcase for a creative storage solution. We also selected Feast tables with power and seating, so students had the best accessibility.

For the science laboratories, we fitted Velstone worktops, resin sinks and Capacity Storage to optimise functionality and ensure longevity. As there were pillars holding up the roof in one of the labs, we had to accommodate the curved fitted benches whilst maintaining the correct number of student seats and their view of the teaching area. In the classrooms, the School’s accent colours were incorporated in the Lockerwalls for design continuity throughout the project. Lastly, the changing rooms were designed with durability in mind with metal framing, polymer benching and hook slats for a clean and sleek design.
