The Brief

When working on this new build primary school project, the architect was concerned that the fitted furniture in the main contract was well thought through by a specialist. The foremost points of concern were that the fitted furniture should complement the striking floor design that had been specified throughout the project and tie up with the freestanding furniture that would be ordered direct by the school outside of the main build contract. Pinnacle worked closely with the design team to create a scheme with fitted and freestanding furniture and also co-ordinated services and floor box locations with the main contractor – this ensured a smooth installation and facilitated the subsequent freestanding design.

Holy Family Primary School had a stunning colour scheme to all the floors that was partly designed to help young children navigate the large new school building. Pinnacle supplied co-ordinating furniture in vibrant finishes such as yellow, pink, orange and green.

What we did

The wood finish used throughout was light oak which was incorporated into the fitted furniture and also the loose tables and library furniture. The carefully planned colour schemes and use of contemporary and durable furniture establishes a forward-thinking learning environment for students to excel in their studies.

There was a large number of rooms in the building with varying usages such as cloakrooms, food technology, library, staffroom, classrooms, offices, corridor storage and the dining hall. The consistency of the interior design throughout the building ensures this is a lively and inviting environment for both staff and students while maintaining flexibility as the school grows and develops. Detailed 2D CAD plans were drawn for all rooms and consultation with the stakeholders at the school enabled the layouts to be adjusted to suit the particular requirements of the client. The school are very happy with the end result and have since recommended us to other nearby educational establishments that were undergoing similar work.
