WestVale Park Primary Academy

Location: Horley, Gatwick

The Brief

Westvale Park Primary Academy, part of the Aurora Academies Trust, is a new build school developed for residents of the new Westvale Park Estate in Horley, West Sussex. The estate is home to 800 new build houses and the school caters for children aged 2-11 years including a fully integrated nursery.

Pinnacle were appointed by the school to provide FFE consultancy and supply the loose furniture for the entire school.

As part of the brief, the client wanted the school to have a natural look and feel, they also wanted us to create a space that was perfect for supporting the development of the children in the school.

What we did

The stunning collection of furniture used through-out the school is specially designed for educational settings and used to reflect the school’s nature driven brief.  The project included furniture for the classrooms, play areas, staff rooms, kitchen and dining, breakout areas, the library and the nursery.

Most of the furniture placed within the school was made from wood such as the tables, chairs, storage units, arts and crafts trolleys, bookshelves, play dens and art easels. Green was a key accent colour in the design used in the chairs in the library and classrooms to match the school’s logo, as well as to add to the natural look and feel of the school. Pinnacle also designed and fitted the forest wall graphics in the corridors and library.

The nursery was an important section within the school and therefore it was key that the furniture would contribute to an environment of growth and development. The chairs have the option for writing the children’s names on the back or to describe what the item is, as does the rest of the wooden furniture. The play den features wooden tepees and sections for soft play.
