We are in our element- it is British Science Week! The 10-day programme encourages students, professionals or anyone with a passion for science to celebrate all things science, engineering, technology and mathematics in the aim to encourage a love for the subject. Pinnacle Furniture supplied and installed 18 high-spec science laboratories for their new School of Science and Sport. The modern labs are fixed between full-height glass partitioning surrounded by scenic views of the historic buildings. In the lab, we installed bespoke black 20mm SGL worktops, black fume cupboards, ceramic sinks and student and teacher islands. Each lab is fitted with the appropriate safety equipment and the overall design has a contemporary feel.
Throughout the Weydon Trust Schools, the labs were kept modern by including pale vinyl floors and durable Velstone worktops, which is resistant to chemicals and scratches, ensuring the work surface is long lasting. The EN high back chairs were chosen to tie in with furniture from each phase and are high quality and robust, ensuring longevity of the furniture. Along with the products, Pinnacle also supplied essential laboratory facilities such as sinks and taps, gas taps, bench mounted power sockets and fume cupboards for ease of use.
Kingsmead School follow a uniform and clean design. Our Design Team opted for a versatile TeacherWall system with sliding whiteboard doors accompanied with Capacity Storage units and Postura+ stools for a sleek design. The solid grade laminate worktops, fixed and mobile fume cupboards and slip resistant vinyl created a practical and stylish space for the students.
The project involved refurbishing 7 laboratories with each room featuring a splash of colour to brighten up the stereotypical ‘clinical’ look of a laboratory. In 4 of the science labs, we stripped out the interior completely and installed white and grey Capacity Storage with Velstone worktops, as well as sinks, taps, gas taps and power sockets.
In the laboratories, we provided durable Capacity Storage in different colour schemes to add a pop of colour. In addition, we added white laboratory tables and provided Techno high stools in various contrasting colours to complete the workstations.
