Our Design Team is Fit for 2022

24-01-2022

2021 was a fantastic year for Pinnacle Furniture, with lots of new projects to get our teeth into. In order to provide seamless communication, consistent design and accurate costing, our Design Department has been restructured ready for the year ahead.

The department now works in Business Units that support our regions across the UK. This change also allows the teams to gain knowledge of local areas and regional requirements. To support the reconfiguration, Pinnacle has hired Ellie as an additional FFE Designer, promoted Lorena and Mateusz to FFE Designers. We also have 5 new Design Assistants: Wil, Sarah, Anne, Kiry and Mel and 2 Technical Designers, Yasmin and Jethro.

We also recently created a new Creative Director role which was filled by Ian Cowell. Ian is an experienced Creative Designer and Director with over 30 years educational design experience. He approaches designs from the perspective of an educationalist not just an interior designer taking a wider, strategic approach to the brief. He is driven to design learning spaces that reflect and encourage teaching pedagogies. This expertise will complement our strong team of FFE designers at Pinnacle Furniture which are all more than capable technically, aesthetically, and commercially to deliver educational design projects.

Victoria

Victoria, Head of Design, is responsible for supervising the setup of BIM, the progress and procedures of design and the advancement in 3D modelling. With the design team growing, Pinnacle continue to make significant investments to progress and develop our BIM capability through training, software and hardware. Our designs are delivered using Revit software to comply with BIM Level 2 in which 3D model information is shared with a common data environment (CDE). Victoria’s management style is one of collaboration and at our company day, she recently won the award for Exceptional Listener, testimony to her ability to lead and inspire her team.

What the Design Team Do

The Design Team are already at the top of their game and at the forefront of the latest BIM developments. They use a BIM library of all fitted and loose furniture and specialist packages that has been built to match our product database, the team provide real-life, accurate costings from the start of their projects.

When working with contractors and architects, the team encourage early engagement and get involved at RIBA stage 2 to ensure great communication from the start of the project. As part of our design team package, the team create market-leading visualisations that inspire clients and engage communities such as 3D layouts, walk throughs and elevations.

The new Design Team structure will allow us to streamline the design process and become even more efficient than we already are. Every project is designed to meet the client’s unique aspirations and budget requirements. Using our knowledge and experience, we can add real value to the journey, whilst ensuring that the client is involved at each step.
