School Library Furniture
Quattro units are supplied at 300mm deep and come in 2 widths, 600mm and 900mm. There are 4 heights to choose from, 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm.
A minimum of 1000mm circulation space is needed in front of and between shelving units - this is a health and safety requirement. The School Library Association recommends that a secondary school library should stock a minimum of 10 books per pupil. (About 45 hardback books will fit on a W900 shelf). This allowance is not for universities or colleges who have a much more extensive library. The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals states that a primary school library should have shelving 1200mm high, although a maximum height of 1500mm is acceptable, with a minimum of one front facing display shelf per unit.
As a manufacturer, Pinnacle can offer bespoke library furniture for projects where that extra impact is required. Please call for more information on our library design service.
